AI Pro’s — KEEP THESE IN MIND: AI Safety, AI Responsibility & AI Fairness!

First, I would like to ask you to remember this:
The principles of Ethics, Integrity and a good strong Moral Character are what makes ANYONE and EVERYONE a far, far better person rather than one who stoops low, bending a knee obsequiously to someone who is unworthy of being a true leader… To me, these are three primary pillars of a better person.
Just look in the mirror, look deep into your own eyes and decide which is the character ‘you’ are.
I will tell you why at the end.

Apparently, the US AISI has somehow coerced NIST (direct March 14th quote from Will Knight’s Wired magazine article):
“to eliminate any mention of:

• “AI safety,” “responsible AI,” and “AI fairness

skills it expects of members and introduces a request to prioritize “reducing ideological bias, to enable human flourishing and economic competitiveness.””

Here, too, is another direct quote from the magazine (I wanted to put exactly what is going on in this paper):

“The information comes as part of an updated cooperative research and development agreement for AI Safety Institute consortium members, sent in early March. Previously, that agreement encouraged researchers to contribute technical work that could help identify and fix discriminatory model behavior related to gender, race, age, or wealth inequality. Such biases are hugely important because they can directly affect end users and disproportionately harm minorities and economically disadvantaged groups.

The new agreement removes mention of developing tools “for authenticating content and tracking its provenance” as well as “labeling synthetic content,” signaling less interest in tracking misinformation and deep fakes. It also adds emphasis on putting America first, asking one working group to develop testing tools “to expand America’s global AI position.””

(NOTE: I wrote most of this paper before reading the entire article — but it seems Will Knight and I are in total lockstep.)

While I am not any kind of genius or guru (only mid-level for now), this current administration is exhibiting a significant lack of intelligence for long-term strategy (and tactics) as to what will be the end result in removing specific key feature guard rails. The administration appears to be going down the rabbit hole of decimating the American (global) path to success and far better productivity — by removing many key guard rails and allowing bias to accumulate — increase, which everyone should already know is a very bad harbinger of discrimination.

We should continue working at a Grand Chess master level going forward, not going backwards to a Junior High middling chess player level…

How would “you” feel if you were being led by the nose (literally) and being tainted by misinformation, disinformation and massive deep fakes in whatever you were doing online ‘EVERY DAY’….?
Two of the primary topics I learned as a Federal Intelligence Analyst, then as an Intelligence Officer — keep your eyes peeled and double (triple) check your sources of information. All in order to verify/confirm ground truth (nooooo, not the AWS Ground Truth, even though that too is aimed at correcting data imbalances…) as much as possible. Then, collaborate with your mates as well because none of us knows everything on most topics….

AI, to me, is supposed to be a step forward in global collaboration and community and productivity— NOT making America the primary, isolationist goal for everyone else to adhere to… There are many AI geniuses out there in other countries, because surely, there are apparently not any in this administration — one that appears to only have targeted goals of gaining more:

• Power for themselves, basically — greed and
• Retribution and vengeance against all those who legally kept checks and balances in place to allow freedom and fairness in, or as much as possible, all areas of life/work

I would write more on this AI topic but Knight’s article already states it all, from him and his sources.

But a key item that I finally arrived at, it is a DOGE (dept of gov. efficiency) affectation… Of course…

And of course, since AISI was created by the Biden administration — this current (so far, worse) administration is aimed at dismantling or corrupting AISI from the best course plot to a very bad course plot (think of the Titanic not paying attention to icebergs). This administration REVOKED the Biden Executive Order to have AISI as the principal goal but kept AISI and then started mangling AISI…

Those of you out there, in America, keep the core guard rail principles in mind and try your DAMNDEST to make AI — Safe, Responsible and Fair — AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE in your daily AI work.
Keep equality and discrimination at the forefront of your frontal lobe….

The reason I brought up those principles earlier is because of the following.

Today — we have yet another 47th president administration slam dunk related to ISIS. Basically, another moment in American history of an administration exhibiting very high levels of DEI – a bad sign.
Wait; to be clear, this is not about the better DEI — Diversity, Equity and Inclusion but rather a NEWER version of DEI:

• Dearth of Educational Intellect — where the affected individuals are performing in a manner where they appear to have no clear signs of ‘real’ intelligence in regards to what they are doing… think of it as a circus act routine — chaotic…

I am quite sure you can realize and visualize what I am referring to in regard to ignorance, stupidity and insanity.
But that sycophant’s piece, that is squarely aimed at those individuals who are in the coat pocket of favoritism, nepotism, corruption, idolization and pure greed if laws and regulations can be tweaked in their direction/favor — even if it would be illegal…
So, tell me, are you working and living with those three pillars of a better person…?
