Amazon Blocks my Product Review on LEAKING Hamilton Beach electric tea kettle — that could be a hazardous danger…
Wow…!!!! I was kinda taken aback by this block. A first time incident for me….
After all these years using Amazon — SINCE 1997 when I was in Seattle.
On my first review attempt for the Hamilton Electric Tea Kettle, Amazon (or some rather dumbass individual), it was blocked.
It was blocked because ‘THEY’ believed my review to be a:
- scam or
- plagiarized or
- other garbage…
Here is the review that was blocked for the three bullets above, you tell me if you believe this review fits one of those bullets :
Wow, thought this was a winner — — IT LEAKS
My wife thought this was a great Xmas gift this past December (2024). Until…. April 4 2025 — — it is NOW a leaking tea kettle…. It is as if the seal broke somehow. And it did not matter how high the water level…. I even tried pressing that plastic oval to see if that would re-seat / re-seal the plastic.
But no, no difference.
— — On OTHER amazon reviews here from other folks who also bought the electric tea kettle in the past, there are a fair number of them talking about the SAME leak.
A few of them have shared images (as I am doing here too).
There is nothing loose on the inside and this kettle was NOT:
a) dropped or
b) banged against anything
Contacted Hamilton Beach because it is within a one year warranty — I did not waste money on the Asurion warranty, hamilton beach ‘used to be’ very good.
The automated response is that they will get back to me within TWO WEEKS (not sure if it going to a Canada site or one in china)…
I WILL be Re-DOING THE REVIEW! NO idea why this organization blocked the first review… DEFINITELY NOT AI….

The second attempt to post a review, I used the same content but I started the review off with the following:
AMAZON — NOTE:
If there is a problem with this post review, your staff SHOULD contact me and tell me explicitly WHY it was blocked. (NOTE: I never received a response on this aspect — it figures….)
Because, again — in the review above, there are/is NO:
a) plagiarism
b) AI
c) spam
d) email URLs
e) Promotions
f) Reviews given in exchange for cash, discounts
g) Links to other sites
h) Attempts to manipulate helpful votes
i) Infringement
j) Impersonation
On April 16, a week or two after my second review submittal, I received this email:

But then, nothing else. They basically dropped the review. I went looking for my review, nothing. Attempted to do another post on the product but got this blockage message:
So I sent an email today to that email address, with the following content:
Yes, I would like to discover why amazon is blocking my product review on this electric kettle…. And yes, this is a delayed email because I have been SEETHING over this product review blockage.
I’ve been a customer since 1997, while in Seattle — and NOW, I am being cast as a:
- SCAM
- IMPERSONATOR
- PLAGIARIZER
NONE OF THAT is true. Am I being blocked because I AM A BETTER writer than many others out there…!!!! I do not need friggin’ AI to assist me.And I for sure DID NOT harass or belittle or profane any amazon staff member. But I am doing so out loud in my home, verbally….
Then, when I attempted to do that second product review, YOUR TEAM was telling me that they were investigating it.WHY??? It was primarily the SAME content product review as others have posted, with a bit more detail in a couple of spots.I only posted a review and EXPLICITLY STATED (to amazon) none of the following were in play:
a) plagiarism
b) AI
c) spam
d) email URLs
e) Promotions
f) Reviews given in exchange for cash, discounts
g) Links to other sites
h) Attempts to manipulate helpful votes
i) Infringement
j) Impersonation
In the review, I stated the problem with the kettle, same as others having the same issue.
I WAS NOT GETTING PAID FOR ANYTHING…!!!!!
And note — Hamilton Beach DID get back to me with a replacement, after I paid for the s/h. For which I wanted to include in my product review as an update.
But, because of amazon blocking me from posting a product review on this item, see message image above.
To me — this is Defamation of Character since amazon is NOW casting SOME KIND OF ASPERSION towards me and my account.
I am requesting this be escalated to amazon legal team as to why I am blocked, which affects my name AND me on this site….!!!
