Horrifically Sad America, Our Government — Whitewashing Our History
We now appear to have a full-fledged FEDERAL assault on whitewashing American history. This is much more than individual states (like Texas or Florida) doing (or trying to) in erasing or whitewashing history in school (grammar/grade school and jr high and high school).
OUR government is removing content from public WEB PAGES…
Correction here: The whitewashing is NOT YET affecting physical PUBLIC edifices (monuments and walls of monuments). This is not anything secret/covert — it is blatantly overt.
(NOTE: I do not refer to our country as the U.S. anymore. It is because we are not a united country but are a DIVIDED country — I only say America.)
For more info on the content removal, it is presented better than I am doing, check out the Washington Post’s April 6, 2025 article:
And no, the Washington Post is not some kind of commie, liberal, conspiracy outlet — as some of the people in this country believe it is (e.g.: being put in a box akin to CNN, MSNBC, etc.).
Anything to do with diversity, slavery or enslavement content is starting to be removed or rebranded to make the material — “somewhat more palatable” or “less divisive” to the public.
This reminds me of the old days when Japan attempted to whitewash history books by removing ALL content referring to the Nanjing Massacre of 1937 in China — somewhere around 300,000 Chinese were killed. Then, somewhere about 2017/2018, Japan attempted to whitewash history about this horrible incident.
Look at Germany in the old days — the old government attempted to whitewash history about Auschwitz, Birkenau and other prison camps where (6 MILLION) Jewish people were condemned to death.
Now, with those thoughts in your head, look at officials in OUR government, this current administration is going even further off their rockers and deeper (if that is even possible) into the deep end… than they have to date. To whitewash American history… (Not the first time either.)
This primarily emanates from one of the 47th president’s edicts. And, no, I am not going to refer to him by name nor will I combine the orange idiot’s name with the term “President” because he does not deserve it. And I guarantee that many of the people in America now no longer wish they had voted for the orange buffoon (or the MANY people who did NOT vote at all).
Whitewashing history, really?
Removing the history of the horrible realities that many of our people (I am referring to folks who were slaves) faced and suffered from all possible content.
No, the government has not stated ‘all’ content but this has now become a very slippery slope — where does it stop? When does it stop?
We have a president who either:
a) Has someone or a group of someone’s whispering into one (or both) of his ears or
b) He is taking the task upon himself to turn this country’s history into one where it appears to be white Christian nationals…
What do we do?
Well, we can create private venues to keep this material and knowledge in the forefront and accessible. I know I can only afford to donate a small amount but there are many people in this country who can donate small amounts. There are also quite a few people in this country with a lot of money that can donate…
We will have to keep this material alive until we finally return to office, someone with a sane mindset and a cabinet of others, men and women (who are either: black or white or indigenous or asian or latino) who also possess a GOOD mindset. To do this, we (Americans) will have to vote out many of those in the current congress and senate those individuals who are NOT putting Americans first and are only looking after themselves. You know, lining their pockets as much as possible — aligning with the orange pile of marmalade in the oval office — all the while, becoming sycophants or ISIS for the 47th prez…
Yes, I said ISIS for these members of this administration but it has nothing to do with terrorists in the mid-East. These ISIS minded individuals are, as a collective whole, as my term reflects:
- Ignorant Stupid Insane & Sycophants
Because of all of what is happening in America, it now appears, to me, to be a problem of DEI.
Yes, I said DEI but I was not referring to the good values of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. No, my DEI term reflects on many in this administration as to having a:
- Dearth of Educational Intellect — — a sparseness of educational intellect or a pathetic use of that intellect.
Look at the current secretary of defense, an individual who definitely should not be in that position. This individual (no, I will not waste my time or burn my respect in saying his name), this individual literally had West Point remove / end all cultural clubs, EXCEPT the: Polish, German language and the Christian clubs.
This made news in February that many Americans may have missed, here a few articles:
- West Point disbands student-led clubs after Trump’s DEI Order — The Guardian
- — — Feb 6, 2025 — The US military academy at West Point has dissolved 12 student-led cultural and professional clubs, following executive orders from the Trump administration.
- ‘A Real Shame’: West Point Academy Disbands All Social Clubs for Black and Other Nonwhite Students on Campus, Sparking Outrage —
- — — Tennessee TribuneFeb 6, 2025 — West Point Academy disbands all social clubs for black and other nonwhite students on campus, sparking outrage.
- AsAmNews West Point disbands minority clubs after Trump’s anti-DEI order
o Feb 5, 2025 — Four AAPI-focused clubs disbanded by West Point, following Trump’s executive order ceasing DEI initiatives. Polish Club not impacted.
Then take note of this GOP congressman (Keith Self), on April 2, 2025, quoting the Nazi — Joseph Goebbels:
“A direct quote from Joseph Goebbels: ‘It is the absolute right of the state to supervise the formation of public opinion,’ and I think that may be what we’re discussing here,”
A bit on Goebbels:
He was the minister of propaganda for the Third Reich under Adolf Hitler. His role was to convince the German people to support Hitler’s regime, which he did so by spreading anti-Semitism and orchestrating the 1933 burning of “un-German” books in Berlin.
******
Later, Texas Democrat Rep. Julie Johnson heavily criticized Self’s remarks.
“When you’re quoting Joseph Goebbels about… the role of state in the public debate, we have a big problem,” Johnson said. “I mean, that’s as alarming as hell to me, when that becomes the gold standard of Hitler.”
She said it was concerning that he was referencing a quote associated with “German atrocities during World War II.”
*************
And everyone should be wide-eyed and clear about this — — this is most definitely concerning — when we have a person in congress QUOTING A NAZI… Apparently, this is not the first time Self has been known to quote Goebbels…
So, we have a definitive problem that a fairly large number of people in America for the 2024 election were either; not paying attention to or simply did not care — much to the chagrin to all those around them. And now, to a broader swath of Americans around the country, EVERYONE should be sitting up and taking note of America’s backwards slide.
Where are we going? Down the tubes because of this inept 47th president and obsequious sycophants?
How long can we allow this to last?
This being the decimation of hard fought; history, culture and values. I am not referring to just the past few decades — I am referring to the past couple of centuries where America has grown from — all the painful hurdles WE managed to get over, at least to a better degree. It ain’t over yet…
While we were/are not collectively great as a country, America has made a lot of strides going forward. Yes, every 4 or 8 years, we have people in office that causes a reverse mechanism to kick in and throw out most of the growth.
Then, after that wasted time, we put in place some good government officials such as:
- Carter (many did not appreciate him while he was in office — but, he was looking at solar cells);
- Clinton (him and Hilary (her health care focus) — minus the personal lapse that transpired) — look at that very sizable surplus the Clinton administration had going as he left office;
- Obama (yeah, every state has ACA/Obamacare — but, the GOP rebranded it with a sleight of hand to use a different name so that states’ citizens would not know it was ACA);
- Biden (him and Kamala Harris — multiple projects that were going strong AND PICKING UP STEAM).
I would have said Reagan but his focus on the country was not on the people. And please do not say anything about the Wall — Russia was already on its way out of the communist mess it had stayed in for decades. And Reagan, yeah — look at that wonderful tax cut that he put in place, not good was it…
Bush — I am having a hard time thinking of anything that was good for the country without having to go look up something.
And this current 47th president — THERE IS NOTHING GOOD that came out of the first time in office, except a mind-blowing tax cut that ONLY helped the wealthy and put the burden on the middle and lower class to try to recover from — in 100 years….
The point is, we make strides and progress but then we have to run into a wall and suffer through pain, such as what members of the Tea Party and the Freedom Caucus caused when they throw monkey wrenches into the works. All to no avail. With the American people suffering as a result.
Now, to add insult to injury, we have this current administration (or as a result of this administration) — having American values demolished.
I believe in DEI — diversity, equity and inclusion because THERE IS VALUE in it. Having a diverse group of people doing anything is great because then there are multiple inputs, not just one version of something because there is no diverse membership.
And having people from various walks of life included with a good level of equity (stake) in whatever role they have — it is FAR better in the long run.
The days of discrimination are far from over. We still have too much of it:
- women being discriminated (tell me that is not happening and you better prove it) and just because she is a female/woman — IT DOES NOT MAKE HER INFERIOR TO YOU!!!
- people of color, any color — yea, we still have plenty of this going on in America — just because a black man looks sleepy and is dressed super casually, you know NOTHING about that person, he (or she) may hold a PhD and you only have a high school diploma — IT DOES NOT MAKE THAT PERSON INFERIOR TO YOU!!!
- ageism is another area of discrimination we have to tamp down
- disabled people — handicaps are a setback for them and we have to continue wrangling with disabilities to ensure these folks also have a voice — more than what they have now, as well as a way to work and a place to work
- sexual preference/identity — we have too many people who are afraid (or ignorant) of those who want to be known by what they believe is their true identity — he is now a she / or — she is now a him — — wake up people, you do not control the identity of another — this is a quarter of the way into the 21st century, not 1910 or 1950 or whatever. And just because a person is gay — IT DOES NOT MAKE THEM INFERIOR TO YOU!!!
Me, I am only one person, who is hoping that at least one other person gets and understands the significance of all the above — and then passes it on to one more person. And hopefully, this gens up more people in the long run due to its ripple effect.
C’mon folks — get your heads out of the sand, vote for better people — for this country… and for our allies…
